The owners of Bonded Winery #9 began purchasing vineyards throughout Napa Valley 110 years ago. Their first vineyard was purchased with a single $10 gold coin in 1903. Today the family owns approximately 1,000 acres in Napa Valley with over 300 acres designated as a preserve intact with its natural state and 635 acres farmed as certified organic. The bond number is used as a way to distinguish the history and heritage of Bonded 9 in the Napa Valley, home to their portfolio of wines: Ghost Block, Elizabeth Rose and Oakville Winery.
The Oakville Zinfandel has developed a powerful structure that is sweet on the front palate and spicy on the back. On the nose; ripe blackberry, wild huckleberries, and candied raspberry. On the palate, this Zinfandel is medium bodied with soft, fine tannins. It is supple, well-balanced and is bursting with ripe dark fruits and black pepper.
For those who want a Chardonnay that is very light on the oak may we suggest something from the The Elizabeth Rose vineyard. The nose offers a welcoming aroma of tropical fruits, and lychee undertones. The unique style in which this wine is crafted, with no oak treatment, provides a crisp and clean palate with slight minerality and a dry finish. A full mouth-feel and plump body, the Elizabeth Rose Chardonnay, will pair nicely with any rich foods.
You will not be disappointed in the offerings from this family run operation.
